sr20 can revv past 7k easily and the ca18det has been known to go as high as 10k on short burst without any damage. But prolly 8000-8500 is the safe limit. If i was gunna go through all that trouble then id try an rb series motor rb20det or rb25det (but they are prolly to long). If i didnt wanna cut firewall prolly go with ka24de-t ca18det or sr20det. But none the less that is going to be a very cool car.
