Oil Cooler Hoses

It's been 35 years since I replaced the oil cooler hoses on my 2600 Spider. I couldn't find any threads on the subject, so I'm wondering what solutions the forum has come up with. I can think of three options:

1) Buy new hoses, if they are available and affordable
2) Have new hoses made with new fittings
3) Have new hoses made using the old fittings

I went to a local (Los Angeles) hose builder who didn't have the metric fittings and couldn't figure out how to re-use the original fittings.

It would be nice to duplicate the cloth-woven look of the original, but my first priority is function.

Does anyone know a good source(s) for pre-made hoses and/or fittings and bulk hose? Has anyone successfully re-used the old fittings? How did you get them apart without damaging them?

Source for oil cooler hoses

I found a good source for bulk oil cooler hose that works well with the existing fittings on my 2600 Spider and looks just like the original (except for a few red threads woven in). The source is Earl's Performance Plumbing (310) 644-0881 in Hawthorne California. The hose is "Aeroquip Starlite -12, P/N FBU 1200. It is a black cloth-woven (nomex and Kevlar) hose which, according to Earl's, is also used on Spitfires (the venerable airplane, not the disposable sports car). You can find it on their web-site AN PLUMBING.COM Earls performance products Hose ends Hose,Adapter fittings. You'll need just under 3 feet.

Using the existing fittings was easy once I figured out how they are constructed. There's a video on the web-site that shows how they go together. Just look at the tech video for power steering hoses, which are made the same way. You will need to remove one of the fittings that the hose attaches to on the oil filter end (screws into the aluminum housing), so you can hold the hose fittings securely in a vise for disassembly and reassembly.
