Spider 2600 fuel gauge

Hi Herve

I have three fuel gauges - one I actually bought form the US last month off Ebay. But I am yet to succeed in getting any of them working!

I suspect my problem is the fuel sender, anyway I can sell you one. I'm in the UK

First though check it is your fuel gauge that is not working - I donot understand Vegliea electrics and it would be useful if some-one could explain.

It is not as simple as just earthing the sender to check - the gauge body also has to be earthed.

Similarly if anybody can tell me the resistances at 0 , 1/2 and full this might be another way to test

If you are creative I have also discovered that any Veglia fuel gauge will fit the 2600. If you strip the gauge out of the casing it is the same as the single gauge fitted to the later bertone coupes etc . The only differnence is the 2600 has bullet connectors and the 2000 has spade connectors

Worth a try?

Cheers

Ian

Hello
Can you tell me what you are charging for the fuel gauge(I am not worried if it does not work as long as the chrome ring is in good shape..and that the gauge has never been opened.

fuel gauge

Herve

Not good news I am afraid

I only have one fuel gauge with a good chrome ring - and that is on my car and it has been openned

Gauge 2 has been in damp garage for 10 years on a car and has rust spots on the chrome ring.

Gauge 3 came from a car that had been in a field for 20 years with a tree growing through it , This one has chrome spots on a rusty ring

Sorry I can't help

Ian
