1963 2600 Touring Spider

Ruedi

Thank you for your answers to some of my mysteries. Here were my challenges posted on another thread:
  • Foam rubber seat paddings
  • Left front turn indicator lense
  • Black fresh air vent hose 32" long
  • 2 short black hoses between plenum and air filter
  • Ignition switch
  • Interior rear view mirror
  • Hub caps
I had worked a little with Re-Originals before - I have had many things on back-order for years. I did get a headlight ring and other items from them.

OKR is a wonderful find (thank you, thank you). I found turn signal lens and hub caps - I will have to save up for four hubcaps.

My upholsterer said he could fabricate the seat buns, but he preferred I buy them. Now I know it is impossible to buy...

My interior rear view mirror is not just dirty, the metal that provides the reflection (behind the glass) is destroyed. I will attempt to separate the layers and have the backing replated - Re-Originals has the mirror, but it would be on back-order ($310 dollars+).

You say black hoses without the accordian centers, any ideas on where to find those?

You say your 2600 is in pieces, what is the story? Is it a project or futue work or...? Where in the world are you?

I brought mine out into the public for the first time last weekend in Irvine at the Saturday morning gathering at Ford/Mazda Design Center. It sat in a garage for 20 years (1979-1999) and the last nine in restoration and it still isn't done. It looks pretty good with the above items needed to finish it - and oh yes, the upholstery gets done later this month. When I figure out how to add pictures, I will share. In the mean time, think S1M0NE.

pegs

My 2600 Spider has little pegs around the cockpit to hold a tonneau cover. There are two types, one type goes around behind the seats and the other type is up near the windshield side of each door. Some of the pegs are missing. Are these a dime a dozen? LOL

Original is always better than remanufactured - I will check this auction out. Thanks, Ian.
