Behind rear seat 2600 spider

I'm trying to find out what is supposed to be adhered to the sheet metal behind the rear seat "warp-around" on the spider. When I got the car it had some remnants of a black linen-like fabric glued to the metal behind and on the sides of the rear seat space. (covered the opening where the cross member & fender opening can be seen).

1. if it's supposed to have a fabric lining, what fabric should be used?

2. is there supposed to be anything in addition to the fabric covering that side opening (just forward of the rear wheel on each sidewell)?

any recommendations?

I'm becoming a fan of this Nitrolite stuff;

another application: I had taken apart my gauges to clean & refresh them and found that the little rubber spacers between the plastic inner dial and black spacer rims were disintegrated; I cut small pieces of black Nitrolite to use instead. They reassembled perfectly because being more of a "foam" type" material, it compressed to adjust. It has excellent memory so it won't lose its compression/spring back abilities.
