Cost of 2600 Piston rings?

There are some Hastings piston rings available in standard size for $145-is this a reasonable deal? Any other suggestions?
Thanks, David B

Currently listed by Hastings - Ref 6789

Manufacturer of Hastings piston rings including Flex-Vent oil rings, compression rings and Hastings racing rings)

They have just quoted me $106.14 - so $145 is not a good price.

cheers

Ian

David, I bought a set of these rings at $145 plus shipping plus import taxes, etc. It was an impulse buy the first time they showed up on eBay. The eBay seller is reliable and the rings seem to be reasonably good quality. However, I have some slight regrets buying these rings: Price shopping issues aside, what I didn't consider is that these rings are available in standard and over sizes. I have no idea what the sizes of the pistons/sleeves in my engines are (or, for that matter, the set of new pistons without rings, pins or sleeves I have). So, my advice: Check the dimensions and tolerances of your pistons and sleeves first, then order the rings accordingly.

Hastings rings

Hastings state they can provide any ring to suit any appication.

Best to get your liners and pistons measured. They can provide oversize and thicker rings if you have wear on the piston grooves . They have very good technical support - I used there text chat service which worked well

cheers

The key here is to call Hastings directly and talk to their tech dept. They can supply sets and even single rings if you break one !
