2 1900s for sale

These 2 1900s are for sale in Europe. I REALLY like these cars, but know very little about them (except that they are not cheap apparently).

Would the board care to illustrate me by commenting on them?

Alfa Romeo 1900 CSS for sale, classic cars for sale uk (Car: 73192)

RM AUCTIONS

Thanks

the RM car is particularly elegant in the silver over blue scheme... the interior looks almost perfect..

looks like a very fine car..of course I always wonder what a "reconditioned" engine is, and questions are raised when there seem to be no details on the Norwegian "restoration" ............ I mean, who "loses" details on the extent of work done on a rare car? (esp since the FIA papers and original service booklet are present and intact)

Well, from memory these are known as series IV Touring-bodied 1900 CSS's. About 115 HP, very vintage feel- I don't mean this as a criticism.

I owned and raced a series III for several years- different body style (and column shift), but identical chassis. 1900's to me have bags of character and my car was dead reliable- I even used it for holiday shopping and commuting to college.

Buy a good one, drive and enjly. If I had the means, a series IV would be in my garage right now.

They do seem very nice. I'd have to sell the 2600 spider to patially fund a purchase for a 1900 CSS, but it might be worth it.

Any comments on the price? Is that what I can expect to pay for a good one, around $120K+ US?

Hi all,

FYI
in the RM auction:

this 1900CSS has not the original 1308 1900CSS serie engine :

engine iron cast from early 1900 and cilinderhead from FNM 2300 RIO
