I am missing the entire tool kit - will you please post a picture of yours? Also, do you have a jack? Would like to see what looks like as well - there is a jack on eBay and I want to see if it is for a 2600 Spider...

Unfortunately, I don't have any hammers for sale -- quite the contrary: I'd buy two of them if I could. I read elsewhere that this type of hammer (or something similar) is available in specialized stores, but we don't have a Hammers'R'us nearby and my web searches so far have been unsuccessful (possibly because my vocabulary of trade lingo is too limited to properly identify the proper name for this type of hammer). So, maybe somebody else in a different region of the world can help us solve this problem.
Below are pictures of what the hammer is supposed to look like (at least what the one in my 106 kit looks like). The hammer has a 300 gram head, measuring about 3-3/4" x 7/8" x 7/8" (I'm pretty sure the measurements are imperial and not metric, as the measurements in millimeters don;t make much sense). All sides of the hammer head are slightly rounded (convex), except for the rear part of the bottom which seems to be relatively straight. The hole at the top of the hammer seems to be 3/4" x 7/16".
The handle is 7-5/8" top to bottom (including hammer head) and 6-3/4" from the head to the bottom. It has a two-sided taper, narrowing from 1" x 3/4" at the bottom to about 7/8" x 1/2" below the head. The profile of the handle is rectangular with rounded edges (not oval). Straight lines along the handle indicate that the rounding is the result of a router bit (possibly followed by sanding) but the indentation at the bottom of the handle could indicate a lathe was used (unless they used spikes at each end for applying varnish). For normal use, the handle seems to be about 2" too short.
I hope somebody can find a source for these hammers.

Try this site, Blacksmithing_Hammers It might be worth sending for one and having it chromed or polished and cut the handle down to achieve the look of the original.

Thanks Ruedi, I hope I can find a hammer one of these days. For the last couple of years I've inversted quite a few hours going through tool stacks at parts swap meets and have yet to find something even remotly similar.

For $15.00 it might be worth giving it a try, even if it's only a temporary solution until a correct one is found

It's a 300 gram French pattern blacksmithing hammer. Available from Hammersource. You just have to cut the handle down to size.
