Another 2000 Sprint discovered.

Dear all,
I just went back from my holiday in Tuscany, Italy and bought there a magazine called Automobilismo d'epoca and saw these add's.
I don't speak Italian and can't call the current owner but let's hope the new owner discovers this forum.
In the same magazine I found a very interesting website:[URL=http://www.archiviostorico.alfaromeo.it]

I wonder if this is one of two cars owned by members of the Alfa Blue Team near Milan

OK here's the translation. I'll do all 3 cars in order.

#1: 1750 Berlina, one owner from new, well preserved, beautiful, original plates.

#2: 2600 Sprint, 1961, white, top condition, only 700 examples constructed, original plates, any inspection welcome.

#3: 2600SZ Zagato, 1965, very rare model, Palermo Red with black interior, Borrani split rims, in good general and original condition, in my ownership for the past 25 years. I might accept a possible part-exchange for other historic sportscar.

At your service, signori ......

Alex.

I like your slip up about it being a 2600 and not a 2000 like in the ad. Anyways its a better translation than I could have done.

Another 2000 Sprint discovered

The Sprint from the ad that I posted is the same that appears on Ebay.it.
I asked the seller for the chassisnumber (as I am trying to locate all the existing 102 Sprints), I did it in Italian, thanks to a colleague of mine.
But, and this is what you ment Ruedi, he won't give it to me.
Because what is the sense of it, he replied.
Italian people are indeed very difficult at this point.

What a pity!

There is a bit of a pervasive fear in Italy of sharing chassis numbers as potential abuses have been overexaggerated by their popular media and rumormill. I have been frustrated by it certainly, but try to understand the fear and placate the worries. Try again. Be gentle. Share some personal information of your own. Try again. Additionally, Don't worry about it too much. Patience will reward, even if it takes waiting for the car to move on to someone who is not so fearful. If it is truly important, go and have a look.

To add to bertone1´s register the following 2000 Sprints can be found i Sweden....
10205106453 - is a really rotten restauration projekt
10205106424 - I´ve never seen but is rumored to be a runner
1020500024 - The number seems short however might be undergoing restauration
Finally there might be yet another 2000 Sprint here if its not the last one above anyhow its undergoing restauration.
Björn
