Are your front suspension joints stuck?
I apologize for even suggesting this, especially after you wrote that you already switched front springs. However, I know that the front suspension "A" arms (I call them the wishbones) bind at the king pin location, i.e. at the end nearest the wheels. I once saw and example bound up so bad that there was NO SPRING ACTION at all. The rubber bumper "horn" sticking down from the body through the front springs was actually mashed up against the bottom of the pan at the bottom of the spring. The only way to raise the front up was to physically pull it up (man, it would squeak loud). All this from a lack of lubrication. I would never even hint at such a situation of neglect and lack of love of a car to anyone who must love your car every bit as much as I, but I do know that it can happen. Once I acquired an otherwise fantastic "basketcase" two liter spider with front suspension stuck down so tight I had to use heat to get the front outside bearings to release and take grease (took grease and moved, but the rubber seals did not fare well, so would have been much wiser to disassemble). SINCE THEN -- thirty five years ago -- I HAVE ALWAYS USED LITHIUM BASED GREASE on front suspension which somehow does seem to keep them from getting rusty and bind up. I try to be very careful to keep the front suspension regularly greased. When the front is stuck down a spider does have a rakish look. Do you hear loud noises when you hit a bump? Hope you can still get grease into the zerks without coming out in the wrong place.
