Thanks for the kind comments. I have been to SLC a few times, and
really like that place, I'm especially amazed of how clean the city is.
Well, this weekend I worked a little more on the tranny mounts.
I somewhat revereted back to using the 2x4x0.065" recatangular
stock for the driver side mount, and the 1x3x0.125" for the passenger
side. The 2x4 works perfect for the lower tranny mount on the S2000,
and the the 1x3 looks to be ok for the higher passenger side. I did
notch the 1x3, and will add some heavier plate stock, and tack on a nut,
on the driver side I will use some threaded spacers do add rigidity, and
keep the tranny mount bolts from collapsing the 2x4 stock. I will use
the 1x3 from the Alfa frame to the sills to make it all nice and rigid.
I have looked at the stock S2000 headers, and I really dont think these
will fit. I think I will have to have some custom ones made. I think that
the passenger side will become the "hot" seat. :-) I'll try and mount the
stock header and take a pick, to give you all an idea of what I'm talking about.
I think that after this is completed, I will send the car out to be dipped
before welding in the new floor and tranny cover. I think that with all
the undercoating and sound insulation tar removed, will make welding
a lot easier. Stay tunned...
Here's a couple of pics.
