Antifreeze dripping from unusual place

I've noticed antifreeze dripping off the driver's side exhaust pipe just behind the flex pipe junction. I've looked under the hood and cannot see the source. The hose behind the motor looks dry. All other hoses and coolant tank are one year old. Heater shut-off valve in closed position. No sign of dampness or smell of antifreeze inside the car.

I would appreciate any suggestions on where to look for the leak. Thanks!

Sounds like a crack in heater core side tank behind heater blower motor.

Heater core probably leaking when system pressurized.

Even if you have a shut off valve in supply line to heater core return line hooks to tee on bottom of coolant tank and system pressure will still pressurize heater core through return hose off that tee as coolant tank gets pressurized.

You will need to disconnect heater core return hose from tee fitting if not a later model molded tee hose and cap off end of tee going to heater core retun hose. You must leave tee hooked to coolant tank and back to radiator or water pump depending on production date of your 164.

Change heater core before next winter.

I second what Steve said. Try bypassing the heater core and see if that fixes your problem.

Even if you have molded hose tee attached to bottom of coolant tank the heater return hose comes off the molded tee.

With shut off valve already in your supply to heater core keep it shut off and cap off tee end where you remove heater return hose and see if you can operate car for the summer.
