Air distribution brass reinforcement ring!! Anyone got one??

My dad is getting ready to have the steppers done in his 1991 164S. As part of this job, you are advised to install a brass reinforcement ring onto the air distribution drum.

Apparently Alfa has discontinued this part. Does anyone out there have one available or know where I can source one?

Thanks,

Thanks,
e-mail stuart at Alfapro and see if you can get one from him.
Or replace with full kit and get all the gears and ring with it.
never have to worry about it again.

Thanks Jason.

I bought the metal gear kit years ago for my dad's car and couldn't recall if it came with the ring. The pack has been sitting in his glovebox for the last several years...Sounds like it is in the pack, right? I got the full kit.

I checked Alfapros website and it didn't appear to be clear on that... maybe I just suck at using the web?

Usually the full kit comes with. Check it out! You could make your own too.

A/C drum brass ring is homemade from 3/4" ID ferrell

Alfa made these rings from 3/4" ID brass ferrells. I bought a bunch recently from a hydraulic hose shop. You have to use a dremel tool to cut two notches in ring so it fits air distribution drum.

I can send you one for a small fee.

Yes, usually do especially when doing eggs in the microwave! Makes it so much easier to clean up the corning ware afterwards.

Steve,

Thanks for the great info. I confirmed that Alfapro no longer makes them. I will have to make one unless my dad finds that the metal gear pack from a few years ago contained one as well. Since he has been out of town, I have been unable to confirm as of yet.

This is great info guys!
