While we are on the subject, and since I am replacing all the P/S hoses on my 94 LS, I'd like to ask a ? and make a recommendation.
I found that the best way to get a good tight fit is to remove the cooling tube and secure the new hoses and clamps to it, OFF THE CAR, and then feed the hose line up into their corresponding areas , reattach the cooling coil and then cut the hoses, [ to the P/S reservoir and the return feed from the rack], to length.
I have read the recommendations for hose sizes [THanks to ALL], and would propose using , 7/16 INCH 50 PSI size hose, since it is very snug over both ends [reservoir and coil] and fits better than the 1/2 INCH hose, through the rubber grommet just below the reservoir. Is this OK?
I also would recommend using, Goodyear E-Z coil 1/2 INCH Molded Hose Solution, to take the kink out of the tight loop where the 1/2 INCH hose comes up from the cooling coil and on to the rack.
The coil is attached to the under body at 4 points, two are press on, plastic channels , one is a rubber grommet with metal cover which uses a 6mm bolt, and the read one is a channel guide clip. Make sure that there are no cracks in the tube by inspecting the rubber cover to the brass tube.
