There's a Spacer for the Starter?

Hello all,

So I have my engine on a dolly at the moment and just adding the final equipment on and that includes the starter. I secure the starter to the transmission and then I go to manually spin the engine. All of the sudden, it's extremely difficult to turn by hand. For a moment, my heart dropped (new motor); I hoped I hadn't toasted the motor before even getting it installed as I was using some force to get the crankshaft pulley on. Then i put my hand on the starter and feel it spinning too. This didn't make any sense until I looked at the parts diagram; there is actually a spacer that is supposed to be there! I didn't see a spacer come off my other 1992 transmission/starter...

Anyone else run into this issue? Anyone have a spare spacer??

The spacer usually sticks to tranny bellhousing.

Sean,
I may have one from the wrecked 164S I parted out. I remember seeing the spacer and I still have the starter. Chances are I have the spacer with it. Though, I won't have time until this weekend to look. Let me know if you are interested, and I'll look over the weekend. If I find it, it is yours.
