Brake master causing brake drag in an LS?
I'm working on a 95 LS in which all 4 brakes are dragging. It already has fresh DOT 4 fluid & new flex hoses all around. I'm going to replace the rear calipers as the pistons are difficult to retract even though I have a tool for the job, & I have the bleeder screw loose when retracting them.
However, the fronts are dragging as well, but the pistons on the fronts retract easily.
I know that on the 12V cars, the brake master would almost certainly be the culprit. However, I need to know whether or not the same holds true for the 24V cars. I haven't seen mention of this problem specific to a 24V car, & the 24V has a different brake master. Also, considering the price of a 24V master/booster combo, I want to be darn sure I'm right before I spend the money.

Wish I could give you some sage advise here. Surely there must be a master or kit available without booster for 24v models but I don't know number(s).
My rescue project 93 appears to be close to this state and even 91-93 there is no kit listed for master.
Think Alfa lawyers and bean counters got to involved in 164 spare part process.

Master cylinder.
No kits or anything for this, has to replace the whole unit. I am looking into only Brake masters from a aftermarket source in Italy

lpr are a big manufacturer in italy, my employer has just started dealing with them, got some front pads for the 164 on staff discount for about $20, and a BMC for my 155 for $50
Products catalogue LPR, brake and clutch hydraulics.

You do know that you must rotate the rear caliper and at the same time push the piston in?
Sounds to me like the master cylinder is gone.

Yes, & I have the tool for do so. Thanks for the tip nonetheless.
I ordered a master/booster from Jason today. I should have it in time to get the job knocked out this weekend.
Thanks for everyone's input.
