Just Brought the Q Home from Winter Storage!
Just drove our 164Q home from its winter storage location. For those of you that don't know, during the winter, the landlord that I was renting a 3-1/2 car garage for the two Duettos and the 164 defaulted on her mortgage. Got a nice call in March from the local sheriff informing us of such, and hoping that we wanted to get our property out. Unfortunately (or fortunately as it turned out), the garage is back behind the house, and has no driveway to it, so we were snowed in and couldn't move the cars. We finally got word from the bank through the sheriff that we could stay (without paying any rent) until the snow melted and the ground dried out. We weren't too worried about having to get out because the house was a mess and a "clean-out" company had to get it ready to sell, and they are really backed up right now with all the foreclosures. But they started to clean out the house tonight, so we got the 164 out and got the Duetto's ready to move back into the house garage. These cars, however, are not road ready, so we have to rent a dolly to tow them home (not far, less than 2 miles). Hopefully, we can get those moved this weekend and be done with this mess.
Anyway, had the 164Q on a battery tender and had filled the tank and added Stabil for the winter. I also put it up on jack stands to keep the weight off the tires. It started right up and drove home just as I remember it when I put it in storage for the winter. Will drive it the next few days to see if anything went wrong during the winter, but so far, so good.

Ah yes, I remember those days of putting my '79 Alfetta Mille Miglia up on jack stands for the Winter when I used to live in Milwaukee. After driving a beater-with-a-heater through the cold months it was always a joy to get the Alfa out again.

Even here in Tennessee, I'm seeing all kinds of old cars out today that you never see, just on the way home from work, a '56 Chevy Bel Air (a VERY nice one BTW) a beautiful silver Spider (and also one this morning) and a white 164 (wait, that was me!) We have very mild winters here, why not drive them year round? I don't know, but I DO understand putting a car up in Ohio (where I'm from originally). If I still lived there... well I don't even want to think about that.

Bought Home the Duetto's Today!
Was able to rent a trailer and get the two Duetto's back home today, along with the remainder of my stuff. Glad to be out of that mess. Now all I have to do is find another garage that I can use to work on my cars (when I have the chance!). Currently, the 164 is outside, the Duetto I'm planning on restoring is in the garage, and the Duetto parts car is also outside. Of course, the SHO and Jeep are also outside. We rented a Public Storage unit to keep all of the other stuff, but they don't have any electricity and you can't work on any cars. So hopefully, I'll find another decent garage before winter comes once again.
BTW, the 164 is driving perfectly. No problems due to the winter storage. In the next week or so, I hope to get the new wheels/tires mounted and then I'll post pictures.
