I made the guy a really low offer for both this Q and his '91 L that has also been sitting outside rotting for 5 years and he obviously passed on my offer. For anyone interest in this Q (#29 of the 35 Q's brought into the States) it would be a worthwhile project for someone who can do their own work. This car needs a good $4000-$6000 of service work and parts done to it for those that are checkbook mechanics, and that's not including all the rust spots and paint work that it needs.

What it needs:
Timing Belt
Clutch
digital dash
A/C and heater need to be serviced
Sunroof issues
gas cap
front fog light
shocks and struts look original
bushings
brake lights don't work
exhausts rusty and rubber hangers are about done
rust above windshield
rust spots on hood
fadded rear trunk
4 new tires

I'm guessing most of the "soft" parts will need to be replaced (belts, hoses, and bushings)
Not sure about the stepper motor

A lengthy list, but this Q needs to be saved!!

Arent the stepper motor's on the LS and Q a lot better than previous? Did the guy accept your offer or is he deciding?
Who the heck smokes in a Q! (In NA anyway where they are far and few.)

No he shot my offer down which I expected.

Here are a few more items that were inspected that were issues:

Breather hoses brittle and seeping
cabin air filter dirty
moisture in brake fluid
Motor and trany mounts sagging or torn loose
e brake cables cracked and rusted siezed
Trailing arm and rear knuckle bushings seperated
Heater core has been bypassed
Right hood strut blown out
