Salvage Value of a 164S?

I am looking at a 164S that is for sale. It has some rust problems, and some other braking issues, but the rest seems to be mechanically sound.

If I could get the 164S for 1,500-1,750 could I get my money bacK by parting the vehicle out? I'd like to keep the 3.0, but the rest could be parted out.

It's a NY vehicle so rust is a major problem. Any thoughts on what would still be of some value? I would want to get rid of the parts fairly quickly, so prices would be resonable. Is it even worth considering?

Marcus

Way to high a price to pay for a salvage salt and tin worm casualty. About half that amount is max.

Well, I may take a look at it in person, as he has had it for sale for over 4 months now and no suckers, I mean buyers. I may make him a low ball offer and have the cash to flash. You never know what the smell of fresh 20's can do. I'll start at $500 and top out at $900.

I think you could sell off about $500-$800 in parts pretty quickly and easily, after that though it's a lot harder to remove stuff and pack and ship bigger/heavier parts. Unless you have a place to store it.......

I need a few little things also if you get it!

For a salvage rusty, I wouldn't start higher than $300 and top out at $600 if the engine and tranny are good. I can find non rusters that are parts cars on the left coast for $200 or less so a running S, yea $600 tops.
