Practising Wood burning with Rosso 93L

Well, had an unique experience tonight. Little chilly out so first off thought some folks in town just eager to try out their fireplaces but the more I drove to stronger the wood burning smell got.

When I got to friends house to pick up a tool I was borrowing wood burning smell really strong and smoke coming out of back of hood.

Guess what happened see picture 5 Rosso Rescue Project Steering Rack Update

Guess what I failed to account for when I put my tools away?

Once against exhaust manifold my "spacer" became an glowing ember.

Without even going (back) to that thread, I'm guessing it was the piece of wood jammed behind engine once you had unbolted subframe to gain better clearance to work on steering rack...

Well done! Glad there was no disaster (there are fuel lines somewhere near there...)

Moral of the story is to account for ALL your tools and special aid devices.

Will use longer piece of 1x4 next time so it can't drop out of sight and mind.

Too bad you didn't leave a slab of salmon or a nice steak on that plank ;-)
