Update.

After numerous delays, the grounds are in place, the MAF is on, and the plenum has new bolts affixing it to the rear cam cover. Threw in some distilled water, re-installed the Motrinic relays, and started it up. Timing is spot on. It runs very smooth, both during and after warm-up.

No error codes.

The plan now is several hot-soaks to run everything in and check for leaks. So far, there are none. At some point soon I will change out the natural oil for synthetic once I I'm satisfied that there is no residual coolant in the oil.
Then, short trips around town.

One more thing...

The whole reason for this odyssey was a wayward bolt working loose and "finding" the oil pump drive cog; the jamming of said cog causing the timing belt to stop wile the crank kept turning. Hilarity did not ensue.

The bolt was one of two that attach ground straps to the plenum. I attached the new bolts with lock washers and put a dollup of thick paint (My daughter's nail polish. Also good for marking the cams) on them. This way I can visually verify that the fasteners are not working loose.

Alot depends on confidence level with the car and the kid's schedules this spring.

'm just happy to have the whole project moving forward again.

Ponit of information: all 25 rooms in our block already reserved for event and I got room 26 added on week ago. So expecting large turn out this year.

Now inspected.
Will drive on non-essential trips until everything is sorted out.
I also need to freshen the oil (I still have the interim, natural oil in it after draining the coolant-contaminated stuff) with Castrol synthetic. I'm satisfied that the moisture has been removed.

An air-conditioned car, just in time for summer.
