Performance Chips
Does anyone know about the Ricambi chips sold on ebay? Any issues with installing the after-market chip on the EMS?
What other chips are available? I only know about the Ricambi and the one sold by Total Audi Performance - www.tap1.com
Please advise

Other chips
Squadra chips can be gotten directly. Check out the website http://www.squadra-tuning.com
The price for the 164 is $283 dollers at the current exchange rate. They are the best from what I understand. Hope this helps. This is thet cheapest I have found so far.

Sqaudra is the only way to go. I distribute sqaudra chips. 100% satisfaction guarnteed with the chip. I guarantee the chip 100% even if you install it and break it I will replace it. I have worked with Squadra for a few years now and the owner and I have a very good repour.
Depending on model you can see anywhere from 10-16hp gain.
No CEL light on, no piniging. Excellent chip!
Let me know? http://www.alfissimo.com/index.php?categoryID=26
I also have installed them for customers if you send me the ECU. You pay for shipping and I install them for free.
Thanks
Jason

Since we agree the Squadra chip is the better way to go spending a couple of extra bucks ( not that much more ) for the extra service Jason is offering you are better off getting it thru him. 10-16 hp gain not bad for $300.

Yes, I take care of the shipping/duty/taxes associated with importing.
Also just noticed your sign name there. 164S is 11hp gain and lots of low end torque where it is missing.

Thanks guys.
I'll be looking into the squadra chip as soon as I talk to my alfa mechanic to know if he know where the ECU in the 164S is located.
I have already installed a K&N filter and a Stebro Catback exhaust system is on its way ... the chip will be the next project ...

What are the gains for an L car? Just curious, as I own one!

Stebro is good, Squadra is the only way to go, dump the K&N. They do next to nothing but let a lot of dirt into your intake and into your engine.

I don't want to ruin this thread, so maybe PM me instead: A properly oiled filter shouldn't let dirt into your intake, right?

How big a job is it getting at the ECU?

its easy Sam
the ECU comes out of the pass side tunnel area -- the hardest part is getting that tunnel cover (its the carpeted shaped piece) out without breaking it (even if you 'break' it it means that the stiff backer board under the carpet has a fracture, will still work no prob or can be epoxied back together) --
Are you thinking of a chip? Squadra is a good company and Jason has the chips, I have one in my LS (with Q intake runners) and frankly I can;t tell any difference-- but then again I'm old, drive slow, and it is an automatic!
