Wheel Bolt Pattern

Hey Guys,

Quick question: Are all Alfa Romeo's Wheel bolt patterns either 4x98 or 5x98?

Where is a good locator for aftermarket wheels?

Cheers
Martin.

GTV6, Milano V6, 164 V6 5x98. Alfetta 4x98, Series 1-4 Spiders and GTV 4x108.

166 has different bolt pattern. Not sure what 4 cylinder 75 or 164 have but it is 4x?.

both correct. It all depends on model and engine type. If you are talking about 164 model, all TwinSpark model (4cyl) has 4x98 and all rest has 5x98

Hi Alfisto Steve,

Do you know if a 8 x16" 5x98 bolt pattern will fit on a 94-95" 164?

Thank you for your insight in advance!

Sizes

You can not just look at bolt pattern you have to look at offset and center bore. This way you know if the wheel fits correctly. 16x8 seems a bit wide.

Stock wheels on my 12v are 15x6" wide with offset of 40. Offset is important when going with wider rim and tire width. My friend has 225-60-16 tires on his LS without spacers and tires clear struts. I don't actually remember what his wheel's offset is though. I think his wheels are 7" wide.

If so I suspect offset has to be at least 40 or greater.

I fix things and do not install aftermarket wheels so don't know the limit in width or offset or rim width but 8" may work if offset correct. Somebody else jump in here with more knowledge of wheel installations.

See tire rack listing they only list 16x7 with 35 offset http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_gara...5&autoModClar=

I know of one person here who put 17" wheels on their 164.

One thing to remember when offsetting wheels with longer bolts and spacers is the additional load on wheel bearings and changes in suspension geometry/alignment.

I think 8" is too wide. I have 16X7 and was running 245's in the rear and depending on the tire they will/may rub on the strut. Talk to Jason @ Alfissimo in AZ he runs 235's and seems to like them. I just (yesterday) went back to 205/55/16's and like the ride so much better than the 225'sF 245R that were on there. Oh and make sure your overall tire height is 24.98". The guy I bought my S from had the tire diamters all screwed up and my handling has been crappy until yesterday.

8" wide wheels

I can't remember what my offset is but my 17 x 8 Ronal R41's did rub the rear struts until I used a set of the 3mm shims from the front. That solved the problem. Still very close but no rubbing. There was no issue at all with the fronts other than perhaps some light contact on the plastic wheel liners at full lock.
