Bearings for 164 cooling fan motor

This company has them: http://www.applied.com/catalog/ma/catalog.do Do a search for 6200, starts with, and SKF USA
and you get this result:

Catalog #MA6368005
Mfr#: 6200 2RSJEM SKF USA Light 6200 Series Deep Groove Ball Bearing
10 mm ID x 30 mm OD x 9 mm Wide; Double Sealed (Contact); ABEC 1; Steel Cage; C3 Clearance; Deep Groove Design
Weight: 0.071 lbs
Applied MA 2006 Catalog Page: 283

Catalog # MA6368096
Mfr#: 6200 2ZJEM SKF USA Light 6200 Series Deep Groove Ball Bearing
10 mm ID x 30 mm OD x 9 mm Wide; Double Shielded (Non-Contact); ABEC 1; Steel Cage; C3 Clearance; Deep Groove Design
Weight: 0.071 lbs
Applied MA 2006 Catalog Page: 283

Another bearing I got from them is a NTN 6200LLUC3 which is bearing with rubber seals and one I use on front of cooling fan to help keep water out of bearing in the rain.

This 6200 series size bearing also fits the motor on my Sears Craftsmen table saw.

I just did two motors and used one with rubber seal in front instead of metal seal hoping that that would be a better bearing to keep moisture out better.

Once you remove fan blade nut by going clockwire aka righty loosey in this case as Bob says use a dremel tool to grind away aluminum holding steel washer which is over bearing.

Once bearing replaced use two part expoxy like JB weld or loctite brand to hold bearing in place.

You can pull rear bearing with a battery post two arm puller.

Steve,
My fan is starting to sound a little rough. Did you use, one of the first SKF bearing and one of the second SKF bearing to do this job? I guess my question is, 2 bearings total and one with a rubber seal and the other without a seal (just a metal "Z" seal)? Thanks.

Use I used rubber sealed one in front and metal sealed one in back. Either style works fine.

Main thing to remember is be careful pressing out front bearing so you don't break front cover. It will come out easier and safer if you grind away most of aluminum "pot" metal holding metal washer on top of bearing. Once you press in new bearing use some JB weld to replace metal ground away.

Oh my table saw still works fine with same bearing installed in it's motor, too.

Thank you Steve,
Looking at a Grainger catalog:
NTN:
double Z shielded: 6200ZZC3
double rubber sealed: 6200LLBC3
I'll get them on order so that I can do this at my leisure.
Charles
