164Q, electrical & other issues?

Hi All,

Had my Q about 3 weeks now. A few issues to ask about;

1. Seems to me the center console switches were backlit at night. Now they aren't. The LCD is fine, but all of the swicthes above and below have no lighting. Also, the front and rear fogs don't work anymore (they did a week ago). Any ideas?

2. Sunroof rattles. Any idea what is bouncing around up there and how to fix it?

3. Manual trans. gear oil suggestions? I have used Red Line MTL on several other cars, any reason not to use it on the Q?

Thanks,
Mark

1. Check parking light, front fog light and rear fog light fuses 10A F1, 10A F2, 10A F8 and 15A F7 in main fuse box G1. Look for those symbols next to fuses in fuse box.

2. Open up rear up position and see if it rattle then and/or slie it open and see if it rattles then.

3. Either use ATF or Red Line MTL should be fine.

yep i know exactly why

your center console backlights and fog lights are not working

There is a known manufacturing defect in the Climate Control Module related to a connector (not the LCD connector but a multi-ribbon cable) related to bad solder joints. I have fixed about 20 like this. Symptoms are: loss of some of the backlights, loss of fog lights, and when it gets bad, hazards flashers turning on all by themselves.
