Are you kidding? Banana Yellow?
Yikes! OK you asked for it. I hate that color! Hate is a strong word and and it fits my feeling for it. That color would honestly embarrass me to death. For me, it's like hot rods painted pink or purple, who wants to drive these things? Finally, people like Chip Foose ( www.chipfoose.com/gallery.aspx?LinkID=tn7) (a true trained car designer) are making hot rods with tasteful colors and the "Hey look at me" comes from the wonderful things he has done to make the car look good, not merely the paint color screeming at me. The 164 was designed by the greatest design firm in the world period, do not forget that! Work with it, it does not take a lot to make it look fabulous, that work has already been done. Metallic Silver, in my opinion is the greatest color ever, used on almost every well designed car to show off a new design in initial advertising and unveilling. Why do you think Mercedes (Porsche, & Maserati (seen the Quattroporte ads?), etc, etc) use it so much? Because it shows off the wonderful lines of a well designed car. Some areas look darker and some areas look lighter and everything in between becomes a nice gradiation. Every line is enhanced. Yellow, all you can see is the YELLOW. I had to go crazy with my thoughts on this thread, because I am a Graphic Designer by trade and am a "wannabe" car designer. Just can't afford the tuition to Art Center College of Design, which is where Chip Foose went by the way and the fellow that designed the new Beetle and the Audi TT... and the fellow that designed all the latest BMWs, Chris Bangle. The list goes on and I am rambling. My humble opinions only. Maybe you were joking about the yellow? Timelessness is what a good designer goes for, will this look good 10 years from now, 20, 30... ? Pininfarina is that kind of design firm. www.pininfarina.com/ Timeless colors in order of preference for a timeless car IMHO, Bright Metallic Silver, White, Black, Red(maybe #1 for an Italian car), Metallic charcoal gray, very deep Maroon, the basics. The only one not subtle is the red really. If (and only if) it is a Ferrari you can add the rich yellow that they use to the list, but not banana yellow! Come on. (O' and if it is anything British... British racing green is automatically classic)!

I agree Charles. Yellow does not work for me either. I just think it will ruin the car. I always and I mean always have hated yellow coupes or cars of any kind.
Black is sweet man! Keep it real! Make it similar to the black one I posted. Looks so damn hot that way!
Charles, need help (well not help but someone to talk to) getting into Art Center let me know?(almost went myself, awesome car design program) My best friends father teached there and has a huge Industrial Design firm in LA. Ashcraft Design, their main clients are JBL and HArmon Kardon. They design everything for them. Cool stuff. I almost went that route myself instead of Advertising/communications and Photo.
Anywho, Don't change the color. Please!
Keep it black. Add some wheels, suspension and maybe Euro headlights if you don't have them. I think your set otherwise. You have recaro's that's a plus and a rarity!
Steller black paint will do it!
Ciao!
PS British Racing green is my all time favorite car color. If I could do the 164 in that, Oh my! Wine color is next all time favorite with White being my #1 all time non-color! lol!

That guy has been selling the wheel for quite sometime now. I seriously considered it few years ago but the price, exspecially with weak dollar exchange ratio, is well over $3000 with shipping and everything.

Tanx for the input guys, i think i'll stck with black, mine was just an idea, but i really liked the pic that jason posted of the blk 164. maybe anything extra i might do, is put on the eurolight and lower it a bit, just not sure if i should replace the wheels i kind of like them and maybe if i polish them i can make them look like the zenders, they have similar look if not the same. Here is a pic of what the car looks like right now.

Jason, I'm talking to people?! Right here! Also, I forgot the rule of thumb for picking the proper color for your Town Car or limo, if you are in the north always pick black and if in the the South always go for the white! Just call me, Style man! And yes, I like women (an awful lot)!
