Airbag Light On!

I know that it is more typical on the older 12 valve cars - in fact - I don't think that I have ever seen one personally that didn't have the airbag light on, but this is a 1995 24 valve car!

What causes the light to come on? How do I reset it? How do I service it and keep it from coming back on again (other than removing the bulb "Lenard-style"...)?

I am told you need the Marelli Tester w/airbag cartridge to reset it.

Goats has been able to do it as I remember.

yeah marelli tester required

I have the tester thus have been able to reset the light-- it goes on automatically I believe at 100K miles -- at least it did on 3 cars I know of (my auto car included!)

My 91 12valve displays and turns off the airbag light as normal. It has 195,000 km (120,000 miles) on it and did not turn the airbag light on at any mileage.

Be sure they have correct Marelli tester with air bag software cartridge before you make the trip.

Cut the green wire I don't want that stupid thing blowing up in my face
Comes out of the orange box under the center console. This system is 14 years old or older. I'm not selling her and all car are FEMALE. Commenting about another thread. I tried and tried to reset it it just wouldn't so I gave up & cut the wire to the dash.

I don't like AIRBAGS and if a 164 came without 1 I'd prefer it. Just a personal thing

It's in the book!!! I didn't guess. These cars are funny. Converted my 164 from Auto to Manual, Had to cut the Green Wire also to get the CRUSE to work. DA BUS what a car, the car you like(Alfissimo) & hate, as long as the LIKE is more than the HATE I'll keep HER!!!

Actually, as for a beautiful woman the equation is not so easy to deal with.

Italian cars are as appealing as beautiful women and actually cheaper to run.....
