Motor Mounts on the cheap: SAAB?

There are a few scenes that were filmed here - the high school, a couple of houses and the waterfront but for the most part it was a Hollywood interpretation. Actually, Gran Torino probably had more GP stuff - the hardware store, the church, the long waterfront shot at the end and of course MY 164! (Unfortunately it is now the one refusing to start... ) Eastwood rented a house down the road a piece and showed up periodically in the neighborhood.

My Saab mount was replaced last night with a used Alfa mount. I went to do some small task and find the mount split. "Honey, I'll be out in the garage for a quick project." Right. Had to replace the stupid thing and got deep into a big project. Found the Saab mount completely torn out once I got it out. Lasted a few years, but not worth having to do it again so soon, I guess.

Pic of badly failed Saab mount. Corteco brand I believe. It didn't look this bad in the car, but it was.

I made the same mistake too. I need to replace mine soon not because its torn but because it's too soft......I'll be getting the Alfa one.
My argument was "but they're so cheap" Bah!
