I dont think the 24 valve is any harder on cam belts its just more expensive if it goes wrong .I run a 24valve 164 super and ive had it a year When i first bought it i looked throught the sevice records and it had its 1st belt change at 63767 miles (as per alfa) i bought the car at 118,000 miles and subsequentley had the belt changed
So I reckon every 50,000 is a safe interval for all camblet changes
Just a footnote to this my2.0 t spark 147 belt snapped on me @ 63000 miles 450 miles after Id bought it .I bought it off a company director who had it from new and had it serviced regularly by alfa and they say change the belt at 73000 (f!"+_ing morons).
New head and belts fitted. Costly
