In Europe, twin carburetors were even mounted in the series 3 until the electronic Bosch (abot 1987) injection was mounted. Also existed A version of the series 4 with a 1600 cc engine (that I believe that it was not sold in the USA) that maintained the Twin carburetors (Weber, Solex or Dell´orto).
