Have you checked the A-arm bushings? If you're hearing a snap or click when you change from backing up to going forward that could be a sign that they're worn. Also, when they start squeaking, it gets to be an annoyance. They're not hard to replace especially if you have the springs out anyway. Also check for slop in the lower ball joint and the castor arm. Check the cross rod Idler arm assembly for slop. Also, have you checked you steering box for lubricant? Chances are, the bottom seal is shot and leaked out the lubricant years ago. Now'd be the time to do that PIA job.

As far as bushings go, I'd stick with OEM, IMHO.
