I am an Environmental Designer and College Professor and have the only running Alfa in town. I know of 3 others, all Spiders, mine is the oldest. ('78)
When I was here as a student in the late '60's and early '70's, Alfa was the car of choice for most sports car enthusiasts as it was the easiest to work on and relatively inexpensive to buy used, for the late '50's/early '60's models anyway. (I remember helping a friend "rebuild" his 1300 over a long weekend in my kitchen. Used the large limb of the tree in the back yard as the support for the pully to remove the motor/trans).
This is my first Alfa, but have lusted for one since I took a test drive in a new '68 Duetto, in Hawaii, the summer after my HS graduation.
