If I remember correctly, Alfa dealers in the USA did have a few GTV vinyl tops put on to some of the later '73 & '74 cars. They also wanted to get an automatic version, and they probably would have sold more of them if they also had whitewall tires and an in-dash 8-track standard!

Those features were VERY popular in the mid-seventies, as were platform boots, gaucho pants, disco music and men wearing open polyester shirts (with big collars) and double-knit 'leisure-suits' with a big gold chain.

In my opinion, it was all the result of too much cocaine!

Luckily, those days (and even the nostalgia for those days) are gone!
