You can do that, no problem.
My Integrale has the same treatment as the 33 16V and I had a big end bearing shell destroid. The crank was grond 2 levels and it is working fine for some thousands Kms and always foot to the metal... heheheheh
Lancia has (had) 3 levels of shells, so its something previewed on the project.
The 33 is no different.
