While AlfaBB's
Terms of Use are weak with respect to not explicitly stating what users can or cannot do, this (in my unqualified opinion) does not pose much of a problem. Most "Terms of Use" documents I've read only state the obvious: Be polite and don't break the law. I think most of the general rules of the
Usenet netiquette that define socially acceptable behavior in newsgroups apply to AlfaBB as well.
The AlfaBB can also expect that users are bound by the "Acceptable Use Policy" agreements that are part of the contract they sign with their Internet Service Providers (ISP). These agreements usually also state the obvious: Be polite and don't break the law. For example, read
this.
Furthermore, don't forget that the AlfaBB has three moderators. If somebody is too far out of line, they can cancel posts, threads, and/or even ban a member at their sole discretion. There are people who have been kicked off the board either because they were abusive to other members or did not respect the intended use of the forums.
